Watching the series “The Beginning and End of the Universe”

(1) From Galileo proposing his theory, was right, and got jailed ! Quite a mainstream news already

(2) Cecilia Payne who in 1925 proposed Sun is made from Hydrogen & Helium, not from Carbon or other elements, and she was forced to write disclaimer in her publication that “there is no evidence of it” which no peer approved , but she was proven right two decades later!

(3) Einstein had proposed Theory of Relativity in 1905 and it included how it was applied to Universe, and it was called “Cosmological Constant (Lambda)” and without any evidence of this constant, which was like anti-gravity that was holding the universe from collapsing in itself. George Lemaitre who was a catholic priest and part scientist proposed in 1927 the big bang theory which shunned the Einstein construct of universe, he was ridiculed for not being scientist enough, but later when he teamed with Hubble, he proved Einstein wrong who apologised to Lemaitre, and Theory of Relativity was trimmed down a lot to its version we study today

(4) Hoyle who proposed two decades later that Carbon is not fundamental building block but rather a byproduct of Star’s evolution via Helium fusion in 1946, he was shunned and ridiculed by scientific community. He teamed up with particle accelerator lab which was setup by William Fowler and established that Carbon-12 is the base element created by Star evolution and managed to get a paper published in 1957. William Fowler received Nobel prize in 1983 while Hoyle was ignored for being arrogant by Nobel prize committee. Yet in study of physics “Hoyle State” is mentioned how Carbon comes to existence in universe

So what do we learn ? The one common observation is whenever so called 92% scientists were ganged up together with one hypothesis in scientific community, they were almost always WRONG!
